Tips For Writing An Essay

Tips For Writing An Essay If I’m assigned a paper and it has to be a minimum number of words, I worry about hitting that number. I have a writing assignment in school, and it is always helpful to know how many pages I will need. I think that since teachers don’t give page assignments but only word count assignments, it’s difficult to imagine how many pages that will be. That means people who write long words have an advantage even though long words aren’t always good to use. Just because an estimate won’t be exactly right doesn’t mean it isn’t useful. For those who are looking for a basic rough idea, this is helpful. I only need to write 250 words and you don’t have how many pages that is on your list. It's about getting it all out of your head, and is not supposed to be edited or censored in any way. The idea is that if you can get in the habit of writing three pages a day, that it will help clear your mind and get the ideas flowing for the rest of the day. Unlike many of the other exercises in that book, I found that this one actually worked and was really really useful. I wrote an essay of 1550 words and it was barely 4.5 pages . I have a paper with ~2800 words and it is 3 lines past the 4th page. I write longer words than most, so most of my pages have less words than the estimates on this page. You should change them so they are more accurate for people who use longer vocabulary words. Do you know what fonts have the widest spacing so that they fill up the page more quickly? I need to find a wide font so I don’t have to write as many words to fill up the pages on my assignment. If you can send me in the direction of the best wide font to do this, that would be great. I think it depends a lot on your personality, but forcing myself to be consistent day in and day out helps me get my books done. Without a daily word count, I would never complete them. What am I supposed to do if I write 1000 words, but it doesn’t make the number of pages I want? I don’t think I should have to write more words just because mine happen to be shorter than my classmates. We both wrote the same number of words, his are just longer so it takes up more pages. This is writing, and it's online, but it's not blogging, or Twittering, or Facebook status updating. In the past, looking for a spare notebook was probably easier than looking for a computer. I don't know if my hands even work anymore with pen and paper for any task that takes longer than signing a check or credit card receipt. I've long been inspired by an idea I first learned about in The Artist's Way called morning pages. Depending on the genre of book you are writing, word count can be critical in whether or not your writing can actually be published. Publishers like certain genres to be within certain word counts, so any author who hopes to be published has to create their works within these counts. Many authors use word count as a motivational tool. Aye how many words do I have to put if I’m typing a 14 page essay. I agree that there are a lot of people who are overly concerned with word count, but there are legitimate reasons to keep it in mind as well. If it’s not something important to you and your writing, you can ignore it. Some of us get marked down points if we do not hit a certain word count or page count. It’s a way to motivate them to get the book done. It works well for me, but I know others who don’t do well with it. If you are given a writing assignment with a page number, the best thing to do is go directly to the person who made the assignment and ask for a word count. This will take away all the variations and help ensure your writing assignment meets expectations. To help them from getting stuck and editing each sentence over and over again as they write, they choose a minimum number of words they want to write each day. These words may not be perfect and will likely need to be heavily edited, but it gets the ideas down and keeps them from getting stuck on one area of their book.

Being Normal

. Normal: Conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected Special: Better, greater, or otherwise different from what is usual What’s normal? And what’s special? What makes one person to be different than others and what makes one person to be define as the same as the rest? Is every person special or are they just similar to each other. I used to have this belief that I’m special, one of a kind, better, greater. I used to define myself as special. But sometimes I lose grip of that belief and confidence and I realize that I am no different from others, that I’m just someone who can be unnoticed and forgotten. Sometimes I find myself being typical enough to not leave a particular special footprint on others’ memories. When it comes to graduation, I’ll just be the one that is the boy from that class or that classmate or schoolmate; I won’t get to be remembered by my name or something that I did. So, if I think that I’m s till special, you’ll probably say heck no. Remember that boy in the class who is the class clown? Or that debater that always challenges the teacher about their point of view? Or that popular hot guy or girl that everyone wants to go near? Well, what makes them so special that everyone thinks of them whenever they mention high school? I got an answer, it’s because they are special, and they have something that others don’t. Do you feel how unfair it could be when one person can has so much attention and is good at many things? I know, part of us want to be that guy or girl that gets the attention and anything they do or say can bring so much unnecessary laughter when it is actually not funny at all or even people listening carefully to what they say so they don’t miss a word coming out from their mouth. Are they special actually? And are you not? There are times of highs and lows. When we are feeling down, we feel like crap, we feel hopeless and worthles s like a paper, a waste paper. But have you turn the waste paper around and see what is behind? It could be something; it could be a drawing, graffiti, portrait, essay, poem, or a design of a future car or even a few sentences that says the simplest idea of how the world can be a better place to live. The tiniest detail of a person may be the greatest ultimate thing that brings him to succeed. But we often overlook it, and think that we are normal. There was once my teacher asked us to write about our strengths and weaknesses. I could not believe that I can’t think of my strength. I think I am determined but well I have been procrastinating for a few years before learning how to swim, hardworking? No...but then I realized these are just normal characteristics, I think of myself being special so I’m trying to think of something that is special but I came up with nothing. I was struck; I could not believe that I don’t know what I’m good at. Is that true th at the hardest thing in life is to understand ourselves? I was told in order to understand yourself you have to understand others more. If that is why then I guess I have found the reason. But seriously do you really see nothing when you look at yourself in the mirror? So are you normal? Or am I normal? Well I don’t think that human can be normal, with all the variations going on, that’s impossible to be normal. God made each and every one of us special and perfect. Is that just we are too lazy to explore ourselves or we dare not look into our deepest side and learn the truth about ourselves? I believe all of us are special, no matter how people judge us to be â€Å"normal†. People do not define who we are, we define ourselves. The thing is to be special we do not need to be the one that gets attention; we just need to stay true to ourselves and bring out the best from us. So get out from your comfort zone and practice your tiniest strength so that it evolves to be your greatest. Stop overestimating while daydreaming, because you won’t see yourself achieving something. Last but not least, don’t ever pretend to be someone but pretend there’s a chance right now and start grabbing it.

Apples Organizational Culture Into Foxconns Operations

For such a dedicated staff as the one at Foxconn, its employees have been taken advantage of by management. Continuous cases of mistreatment, from dangerously low pay to poisoning have shattered not only Foxconn’s reputation, but has damaged Apple’s brand name. Apple is responsible for this mismanagement, as it is encompassed within Apple’s immediate suppliers. Apple has participated in ethically-motivated measures to fix these cases of mismanagement while improving working conditions, but it still has a long way to go. Maintaining overseas operations has the benefits of reduced costs and consistency which outweigh the negative media coverage, reputation damage, and stakeholder retaliation. However, the stakeholder retaliation, both internal and external, is strong enough that Apple must take contingent precautions to embed Apple’s organizational culture into Foxconn’s operations. Supply Chain Responsibility Supply chains are a huge responsibility for firms. Just as a firm has the ability to guarantee and stand by the quality of its products, it has the corporate social responsibility-based duty to stand by its operations (Claudia Mihaela, 2013). Whatever internal or external factors impact supply chain operations directly impact the firm as well. From an internal perspective, mistreatment of employees regarding working conditions, low pay, or abuse at the supplier level displays extremely negative brand name recognition for any company (Robinson, 2010). Injury and Incremental Expenses Assistant †Free Samples to Students

Question: Discuss about the Injury and Incremental Expenses Assistant. Answer: Introduction: The central issue in the given situation is to tender legal advice to Rose in relation to the enforceability of the contract entered into by her with Holly (Landlady) and Grace (Daughter). A contract once entered can be varied by mutual consent of both the parties involved provided consideration is present for both the parties involved. In the absence of a mutual consideration, the modifications to the original contract would not lead to an enforceable contract which has been highlighted in the Foakes v Beer[1884] UKHL 1. In the given case, there was an agreement between Dr. Foakes and Mrs.Beer regarding settlement of a debt in instalments. However, afterwards, the plaintiff (Mrs. Beer) filed a legal application for obtaining the interest from Dr. Foakes despite initially promising not to sue the same. The House of Lords ruled in favour of Mrs. Beer since she has no consideration provided for agreeing to waive the interest (Andrews, 2011). In wake of the above decision, definition of valuable consideration becomes pivotal for which Currie v Misa(1875) LR 10 Ex 153 case needs to be referred to. This case defines consideration as follows (Peel, 2008). A valuable consideration, in the sense of the law, may consist either in some right, interest, profit, or benefit accruing to the one party, or some forbearance, detriment, loss or responsibility, given, suffered, or undertaken by the other. Another key aspect of contract relates to the presence of the will on the part of the contracting parties to be bound by legal relations. This is assumed to be present by default in case of commercial agreements but the same is not the case for domestic agreements (Carter, 2012). This aspect has been highlighted in the verdict of the Jones v Padavatton [1969] 1 WLR 328 case where the honourable court highlighted that in case of domestic agreements, the default assumption is that the parties lack the intention to be legally bound and only when there is evidence in contrary of the same would the contract be held as legally enforceable (Taylor Taylor, 2015). It is apparent that owing to the injury and incremental expenses of an office assistant, Rose renegotiates the contract with her landlady Holly where there was mutual consent in relation to the reduction of rent till the time Rose returns back to work. It is apparent that altering the original lease contract, there existed an incentive for Rose who would have to pay lesser rent. But at the same time, there was incentive existing for Holly also she is able to sell the vegetables grown by herself through the shop. Therefore Holly did not want that the shop should close down. Thus, the modified contract would be considered as enforceable on both Rose and Holly. Further in relation to the promise to Grace, it is apparent that the promise to pay 500 was made by Rose after Grace had already extended the help for two weeks. While for the past work, Rose has always paid Grace and hence it is appropriate to expect some compensation on behalf of Grace. However, no such evidence exists in the current case which highlights the presence on the part of the parties to be legally bound. As a result, the contract between Rose and Grace cannot be considered as enforceable. Conclusion Based on the above, it may be concluded that Rose is not entitled to make any additional payment more than 1,000 as rent to Holly for the six month period. Also, Rose is not legally bound to make the payment of 500 to Grace as the contract is not legally enforceable. References Andrews, N. (2011). Contract Law (3rd ed.). John Keats La Belle Damn Sans Merci Analysis free essay sample

The poem begins with a forlorn and heartbroken narrator suffering from both physical and emotional pain, ‘So haggard and woebegone’ (l 6) who meets a beautiful maiden. La Belle Dame sans Merci appears to portray to readers the universal anomaly of what is known as unrequited love. In conjunction to love felt equally by two parties, unrequited love occurs when the love felt by one person is far greater than that felt by the other who is loved. The term unrequited literally means ‘not returned or rewarded’. This denoted the unfairness in the balance that one expects in a love relationship when the love that one feels for another is not reciprocal. In the poem, Keats shows this by describing the Knight’s disappointment would be less severe if he did not believe that from the beginning of their love affair that the maiden love of him was equal. In line 19 and 28 the maiden appears to have fallen in love with the knight just as he has fallen for her, â€Å"She look’d at me as she did love†¦she said, I love thee true. We will write a custom essay sample on John Keats La Belle Damn Sans Merci Analysis or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page (l 1928) This can be interpreted that despite her inherent nature, she seemed true feeling for the knight at the time. She even takes him back to her home, her â€Å"elfin grot† (cave) (l 29) and makes him comfortable. At this point, it’s only natural for the knight to believe that the love his felt for the maiden was exactly proportional to what she was feeling, and their ‘wild’ romance would continue when he awakes. However, as he awakes from his slumber, he found that the maiden was nowhere to be found. He was all alone and the his expectations of the romance was shattered. It then dawned that his suffering disappointment stemmed from the realization that she never really loved him the way he thought she did. At this point the knight is lonely and hopeless, but he does not show anger towards her. This shows his understanding that in love there is despair. Even though the love he feels for her is pure and true, she did not have the same feelings. The only clues in La Bella Dame sans Merci that depicts whether or not the love felt by the maiden towards the knight is true, comes from the dreams of the knight when he was sleeping. In his dream he comes to the realization that the maiden is pitiless and she has no mercy. His dreams can be interpreted as if the knight subconsciously knew that the love wasn’t real and that the maiden had already left him, and his mind has already started shifting the blame towards her. This mentally prepares the knight for the harsh reality that he has to face as he awakes. The dream might just be his rationalization; a way of making her out to be evil in order to cope with the pain of learning his love is unrequited, and in love there is despair. Despair is the state of having lost all hope, of finding oneself unable to believe life will ever be good again. The knight in La Belle Dame sans Merci falls into despair when he learns a relationship that seemed to be just starting has abruptly ended. His situation is clear from the very first line, when a stranger finds him out in the forest and can tell just by looking at him that something is gravely wrong. The stranger sees how pale he is and, noticing he has chosen to live by a dead, frozen lake, wants to know what ails him, by which he means what has made the knight so sick in spirit. In the middle stanzas of the poem, the knight describes the romance, which meant more to him than anything that happened before it or since. The brief romance ended with the lady lulling him to sleep. Readers can assume that, comfortable and happy beside her, he expected their love to continue and even to grow when he awoke. In the real (as opposed to magical) world, the knights despair would take time to develop, because he would not know for sure that the woman he loved was gone forever. In the magical world of this poem, though, he is visited in his sleep by pale figures of noble men who describe the woman as merciless. When he wakes to find her gone, he readily believes her absence confirms the damning things the figures said about her. The poem does not have the knight looking for his lady or trying to find out why she has left; he is as certain she had no intention of staying with him just as surely as he knows he loves her. There is no hope they will be reunited, and therefore there is no hope that he can ever be happy again. His life is doomed to despair. La Belle Dame sans Merci is a ballad, a medieval genre revived by the romantic poets. Keats uses the so-called ballad stanza, a quatrain in alternating iambic tetrameter and trimeter lines. The shortening of the fourth line in each stanza of Keats poem makes the stanza seem a self-contained unit, gives the ballad a deliberate and slow movement, and is pleasing to the ear. Keats uses a number of the stylistic characteristics of the ballad, such as simplicity of language, repetition, and absence of details; like some of the old ballads, it deals with the supernatural. Keats economical manner of telling a story in La Belle Dame sans Merci is the direct opposite of his lavish manner in The Eve of St. Agnes. Part of the fascination exerted by the poem comes from Keats use of understatement. Keats sets his simple story of love and death in a bleak wintry landscape that is appropriate to it: The sedge has witherd from the lake / And no birds sing! The repetition of these two lines, with minor variations, as the concluding lines of the poem emphasizes the fate of the unfortunate knight and neatly encloses the poem in a frame by bringing it back to its beginning. In keeping with the ballad tradition, Keats does not identify his questioner, or the knight, or the destructively beautiful lady. What Keats does not include in his poem contributes as much to it in arousing the readers imagination as what he puts into it. La belle dame sans merci, the beautiful lady without pity, is a femme fatale, a Circelike figure who attracts lovers only to destroy them by her supernatural powers. She destroys because it is her nature to destroy. Keats could have found patterns for his faerys child in folk mythology, classical literature, Renaissance poetry, or the medieval ballad. With a few skillful touches, he creates a woman who is at once beautiful, erotically attractive, fascinating, and deadly. Some readers see the poem as Keats personal rebellion against the pains of love. In his letters and in some of his poems, he reveals that he did experience the pains, as well as the pleasures, of love and that he resented the pains, particularly the loss of freedom that came with falling in love. However, the ballad is a very objective form, and it may be best to read La Belle Dame sans Merci as pure story and no more. How Keats felt about his love for Fanny Brawne we can discover in the several poems he addressed to her, as well as in his letters.
